Dr. Payton is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He received his B.A. degree in Chemistry from Indiana University in 1981, his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1984, and did his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical training at Indiana University Hospital , completing his Residency in 1988.
Dr. Payton is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and many local affiliated Dental Societies.
Dr. Payton’s special surgical interests are in the field of Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery, Temporomandibular Joint Surgery and Cancer Reconstructive Surgery. As a pioneer in office TMJ arthroscopic Surgery, he was one of the first Oral Surgeons in the country to perform in-the-office TMJ arthroscopic surgery. Additionally, he has extensive training in Oral Pathology. Dr. Payton is on staff at many of the local hospitals in the community and is an Assistant Surgical Professor at Nova Southeastern University , College of Dental Medicine. |
